What started as an after-hours project spurred into a six minute cinematic VR experience that has gone global with its heavy emotional response and innovative in-engine technical achievements.  Debuting at Sundance's New Frontiers, Giant has also been premiered at Cannes, SIFFX, VRLA, SIGGRAPH as well as being hosted in Epic's VR Lounge at GDC 2016.

 

The scene, effects and lighting were created in Unreal Engine 4 with Blueprints being the primary development tool to get it all running. Using Depthkit, we were able to film live actors and capture 3D information for development of a custom disparity shader for the video playback.
